CVS is having a great sale right now on many drug store brands. I've been three times since it started and wanted to share all the amazing deals that I got. There is a great blog with a list of nearly everything that is currently 50 - 75% off.Check it out at nouveaucheap.blogspot.com/.

Now on to what I got.

The first day I went was New Year's eve. I was on a mission for a top coat and base coat. I got a Revlon top coat, L'oreal base coat and a Sally Hansen Diamond Strength nail polish in Black Diamond.

I wore the nail polish for New Years Eve. I'm not sure if you can tell from the picture but Black Diamond has little reflects of green, blue, purple and silver in it depending on the lighting. I like all three of these products.
  • Revlon Top Coat - 4.99 (regular price minus 1 dollar coupon)
  • L'oreal base coat - 1.25 (original price 4.99)
  • Sally Hansen Diamond Strength nail polish in Black Diamond - 1.37 (original price 5.49)
  • Total - 8.30
  • Savings - 8.86
My second trip to CVS was on January 5th. I was there to get the L'oreal Bare Naturale mineral foundation and concealer.I had been searching through You Tube videos for a week or so trying to find a foundation that might work for me. I used to have one of those Cover Girl pressed powders. It was alright but not for me. I also had another Cover Girl compact with a creamier foundation but I didn't really like that either. I wanted to try some mineral makeup and found emilynoel83's video and decided to go with L'oreal Bare Naturale. Neither the foundation or concealer were 75% but they were buy one get one 50% off. While I was checking out the foundation I decided to pick up a blush and another Almay Bright Eyes shadow trio. I have several others in different colors. I like the shadow and blush. I've only worn the foundation twice. The second day I wore it, I had this weird burning sensation on and off through out the day. It was burning in my cheek bone area. I'm not sure if it was the blush, the foundation or what. I stopped wearing everything for now to see if I can figure out what hurt my face. I have a feeling it was some crappy makeup remover wipes I used the night before. Also during this CVS trip, I attempted to sign up for the Beauty Club.
  • L'oreal Bare Naturale foundation in 458 Light Ivory - 14.99 (original price)
  • L'oreal Bare Naturale concealer in 478 Light - 6.14 (original price 12.29)
  • Almay Intense I-Color shadow in 023 Trio for Hazels - 2.12 (original price 8.79)
  • Maybelline Expert Wear Blush in 010 Romantic Plum - 2.99 (original price 5.99)

  • Total -28.61
  • Savings -15.82
I tried to sign up for the CVS Beauty Club which is basically another point system with your CVS card that gives you rewards for your beauty purchases. When you sign up you get a 10% off coupon that is not good on sale items. I headed out to CVS today to check out the other sale items after watching all three of Glittereyes82's CVS haul videos. I brought my 10% off coupon, hoping to use it on some new makeup wipes and found out that the cashier at my previous trip did not use my CVS card (she probably typed my phone number wrong). So I won't be getting any of those points towards my extra bucks. BUMMER! Oh well, everything I got for makeup was 50-75% off. I'm going to try the CVS brand makeup wipes and see if they resolve the burning face. I also got some CVS baby shampoo to deep clean my brushes.

I haven't really tried anything yet since I got it all today. I did swatch the Rimmel Stay Matte foundation in the store to ensure it wouldn't be too light. It blended perfectly into my hand. I want to try it out tomorrow and if I like it, I'll go back and grab the last few that were there. I grabbed the Sally Hansen top/base coat because it was a good bargain. I know I just got both of those items last week but for under three dollars, I couldn't resist! I swatched the Physicians Formula liner and even in warm black it is dark. It dried instantly on my hand and could draw a very fine line if desired. The Physicians Formula eyeshadow stick is two shadows in one container. Each end has a sponge applicator with the purple end being rounded and the brown end is pointed for doing liner. The purple comes out pretty light on my hand but the brown had good color payoff. I haven't tried the Revlon blush and bronzer or the cream to powder eye shadows. I also haven't tried the Rimmel smokey eye quad yet either. I tried on the Rimmel lip gloss in cookie. It smells and tastes like a chocolate chip cookie, minus the chocolate part (if that makes sense). It's not very hydrating and is pretty sheer but it is sparkly! All four of the Revlon lip products have great color payoffs. I was a little worried about my lilac lip gloss because it looked a little funky in the tube but it was the only one left. When you are shopping through the products,  make sure you inspect everything before you buy.
